Natalya Semenova (b. 1951) is a renowned Russian art historian, PhD in the History of Art (2008), a member of AICA (The International Association of Art Critics) from 1994, and biographer of Ivan Morozov, Sergei Shchukin, and other Russian art collectors.
Semenova's publications include many titles dedicated to the early 20th-century private collections of art in Russia, as well to Matisse’s visit to Russia, but also Selling Russian Treasures (N.Y. Abbeville 2013), Les Trois siècles du miracle de la Chambre d’Ambre (Dumont 2003), A Soviet Museum Experiment: Treasures into Tractors (Washington University Press 2007), Collecting Matisse (Flammarion, 2003), Les pertes des musées de Moscou pendant les reventes d’œuvres d’art (Verkaufer Kultur, Vienne, 2000), and others.
